In Pursuit of Slow
Insights and Lessons From Walking the Camino de Santiago
From Speaker and Author Jackie Jarvis
‘There is more to life than increasing its speed’ – Gandhi
After many years of running fast and pushing hard for results in my business life, I decided to take time out and walk two different Camino routes to Santiago; the very routes that have been walked by pilgrims and saints for hundreds of years.
Whilst making these journeys on foot – 900 miles in total – it was revealed to me, in many different ways, the positive impact slowing down and simplifying your life can have.
I now feel compelled to share these important insights and Lessons in SLOW with your audience.
My 20 to 45 minute talks aim to inspire stressing less, being happier and accomplishing more, both in business and in personal life.
Lessons and insights can be tailored to suit the biggest challenges the audience faces:
Powerful Lessons’ from ‘The ‘Voice of Slow’
- Slow Down to Gain More
- Permission to Slow Down
- Life is not a Race
- The Courage to ‘Let Go’
- The Gift of ‘NOW’
- YOU are not a Machine
For the last 15 years I have been working as a business development and sales specialist. As a coach and trainer I spend my time helping ambitious business owners and their teams to grow. I am a published author of Quick Wins in Sales and Marketing (published in 2015) and in 2017 In Pursuit of Slow.
As one of the founding directors of Heart of business, a successful business development and collaboration network, I understand the challenges and pressures of growing a business.
With over 25 years’ experience across a range of different industries in both the SME and Corporate environments, I have worked with both top corporate brands and small start-up companies. I have been an award winning salesperson, built, trained and managed sales teams and worked internationally as a trainer and coach.
I am a member of the PSA (Professional Speaking Association) and a Master Practitioner in NLP.
I am passionate about outdoor life, keeping fit and healthy. I enjoy walking (many wild hikes, UK and overseas), running (park run, half marathons), cycling (claim to fame is the Edinburgh to Oxford challenge) and going out alone for gentle horse rides on my old retired show jumper Magic.
I believe in the daily spiritual practice of meditation and mindfulness in my own Pursuit of Slow.
